27 December, KATHMANDU : Tulsiram Pokharel has been appointed as the permanent Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mega Bank Nepal Limited. The board of directors of the bank has appointed Pokhrel as acting CEO with effect from Friday, January 9.
Pokhrel, who has been working in Nepal’s banking sector for 27 years, is one of the 14 founders of Mega Bank. Prior to the bank becoming operational, he became the executive head of the pre-operational phase from 1st May 2067 and started his service in the mega bank by leading the work of registration of the proposed bank, obtaining licenses and creating the necessary infrastructure for the bank . ,
Kamu became the CEO of Pokharel Mega Bank by becoming Assistant General Manager, Deputy General Manager, Senior Deputy General Manager. He has been in the top management of the Bank since its inception and has handled various departmental responsibilities and also served as Company Secretary.
Pokhrel, who started his banking career as an assistant manager at Navdurga Finance and rose to be deputy chief executive officer nearly three decades ago, was the chief executive officer of Prudential Finance Company Limited before joining the mega bank.
The Board of Directors of Mega Bank thanked Raveena Deshraj Shrestha, Permanent CEO, who has taken voluntary retirement from the Bank.
